Album

Warpig is the only album release by Canadian hard rock band Warpig. It was released in 1973 on the local indie label Fonthill Records. Later, London would pick the record up for a re-release it was also re-released in 2006 via Relapse and then Kreation Records in 2009. Warpig -1970 By Late 1966 In Ontario Canada, Rick Donmoyer Found Himself Looking For A New Project & Teamed Up With Ex Mass Destruction. Warpig is a Canadian rock band. They gained a fan following in the Ontario club circuit in the 1970s and performed shows with Wishbone Ash, Savoy Brown, Manfred Mann, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Mahogany Rush. Before forming Warpig in 1968, band members Rick Donmoyer, Dana Snitch, Terry Hook, and Terry Brett had played and toured in several other Canadian rock groups, including Mass Destruction, Wot and The Kingbees. They signed with independent label Fonthill Records and at Sound Canada. All of which exacerbates the cruel obscurity experienced by this exceptional album until its 2006 reissue by Relapse Records, which hardly corrected history's injustices, but at least accorded Warpig some belated recognition for their modest contributions to heavy metal's early-70s foundation. Track Listing. Warpig biography Warpig's formation came the same as so many other rural Ontario bands of the mid 60's. Guitaristsinger Rick Donmoyer toiled the late 60's in a number of groups, including The Turbines, The Kingbees later The Wot and Mass Destruction. But by late '66 Donmore found himself looking for a new project, and hooked up with fellow Mass Destruction alumni Terry Brett on bass, Dana Snitch keyboardsguitars and drummer Terry Hook, all Woodstock natives. The album was full of raw power, with inspirational remnants from everything from the British Invasion to the surf sound, from Chet Atkins to Black Sabbath. Album Name Warpig. Type Album.
