Bank ban: Prelude. Listen Now . Ferenc Erkel was the Hungarian analog of Mikhail Glinka: the founder of a national school of music. His melodic gift rivals that of Bellini, and his dramatic sense is worthy of comparison to early Verdi. Bank Ban is packed with music that would become greatest hits, but for the isolation forced by its Hungarian-language text. Erkel: Bank Ban. János Ferencsik. Superb release, great cover, booklet, sounds amazingly, quality of the recording is also amazing. And also it's the pearl of the Hungarian opera, so I could have no bad word about it, but anyway I also think that this recording is very powerful, "colourful" and full of emotions , performed by the best of best that Hungary had at that time.
